The charming cottage is surrounded by fruit trees and plants. The house is enhanced by the large deck where guests enjoy dining or having a drink. Cabanas is a 2 minute drive or a 12 minute walk. From the waterfront you take a motoboat - about 2 minutes - to the superb beach which is certainly one of the finest in Europe - many kilometers of perfect sand, no buildings and few people, even in high season. The water is warmer and calmer than at the Atlantic beaches, and is splendid and safe for children. Cabanas has many cafes and restaurants. It is famous for fresh fish and seafood. Close to the cottage shopping is available. The nearby city of Tavira is one of the loveliest in Portugal. Guests enjoy strolling there at night, admiring the many fine historic buildings.

Cabanas is about 6 kilometers from Tavira. Close by in the direction of Spain are fine beaches at Manta Rota and Monte Gordo. Ayamonte in Spain is only 20 minutes away, and even Seville can be reached easily for a day excursion.To the north of Cabanas you will find a mountain range sparsely populated and forming a great contrast to the beach areas of Algarve. A day trip can be made all the way to Sagres - the wild promontory on the Southwest corner of Portugal - stopping along the way to discover the many lovely beaches which have made algarve famous.

From Faro airport take the Motorway to the East in direction of Spain. Exit at Tavira. At the roundabout join the N125 and go East in the direction of Spain. Turn right on the roundabout (water-tower on left side) where you see the sign to Cabanas. Cross the train track, take the first left where you see the sign Perogil. At the roundabout turn right. Our cottage - 16B - is on the second property on the little lane; there are three houses, ours is set back from the road and on the right side.

Any time between 8 AM and 11 PM. You will be met by dona Girlena Lisboa who has the key to the house. She will await you at the time that you have stated for your arrival. It is all quite simple.

Price varies according to season between 50 and 70 euros per night. For periods longer than a week a global price can be negotiated.
