This charming cottage recently built in classic Portuguese style stands in the grounds of a property used by the owners during weekends only. Although they may occasionally share the pool, they are well aware of guests' need for privacy, so they rarely use it.
They are keen riders and as there are horses on site, riding can be organised during the weekend (or close-by, during the week). Within a radius of 20km there is entertainment for all the family, beautiful beaches (Arrabida, Sesimbra), golf (Troia, Peru, Montado), go-karting (Palmela), pottery shops or wine-tasting in the cellars of Vila Nogueira de Azeitao. Palmela and Setubal with their beautiful churches and Pousadas (castle hotels) should not be missed, if only for the view. Trips on the river Sado are a special occasion, to spot the dolphins. Then, of course, Lisbon is only 35km away and well worth a visit.
The property has a lovely, light sitting/dining room with a comfortable convertible double sofa. From here, steep open-sided wooden stairs (not suitable for young children or disabled people)lead to a mezzanine with two single beds (plus two single "drawer" ones that come from underneath).
A large french window leads from the sitting room to the covered terrace (ideal for an al-fresco meal) and pool area. Parents with young children should be aware that the pool (only 5m from the terrace) is not fenced-in.
The garden is quite lovely, with lots of flowers and a well manicured lawn, perfect for a quiet holiday and long siestas!
