Refugio das Camellias consists of 4 studios in total. Each of them is fully equipped. You will find shower / bath, a kitchenette (also fully equipped), TV, safe (at no additional cost), heating and also a balcony to enjoy the impressing sight over the mountains of Madeira! Available are two studios with king size bed and two studios have twin beds. In addition you find a large and full equipped kitchen in the basement with espresso coffee machine, washing machine and gas oven, to cook whole meals.

This kitchen is open to everybody in the house. Outside you can find an impressing and charming place for barbecue. Furthermore there are in total 3 lounges with TV. They are located in he basement and upstairs. The lounge in the basement has an open fireplace and relaxing furniture in a very charming ambient to give you the opportunity to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and read a book.

Upstairs there is a lounge with an impressing panorama view and comfortable relaxing chairs. In the cellar there is a fantastic and rusticall private winery of the owner! Upon arrival will be greeted by the owner’s family with a glass of Madeira wine! You will also receive fruit of the region and honey cake. What makes the Refugio das Camellias so special is the warm hearted owners family who takes care of each guest and provides you with insider tips you never find in any travelers guide! There is free parking for all guests!

Refugio das Camellias is located above the hills of Faial, a quite charming and wonderful place to rest relaxes and finds tranquility to forget about the stress at work and the regular life. Nearby you can find a mini market for the daily needs (bread, fresh cake and other essentials). Faial – a small village with a charming church - is only 6 minutes by car away. There you can find a restaurant and ATM. Also in Faial you can find a small beach in about 10 minutes.

Refugio das Camellias is a wonderful and sensitive restored cottage which was carefully expanded over the years. You can find terraces and lovely and charming details throughout the whole building so that you really feel at home. You have an amazing sight over the surrounding mountains. A great place to start hiking tours- enjoys the fresh air and the wonders of Madeira. The rooming is without breakfast and based on self catering. The apartments will be cleaned up twice a week.

Madeira (Funchal) is only a 40 minutes ride and you can reach the airport in about 20 minutes.
