A 19th century house whose architectonic traits are typical of the Ribatejo region. This Portuguese country-side house with wide, white and ivied walls has always belonged to the same family (for four generations). Its name results from the fact that, in the past, the neighbouring lands had to pay “rent or obligations” (“foro or foral” - in Portuguese). Casa do Foral has ribatejo countryside stylish bedrooms. With a fresh environment of a swimming pool and the garden, populated by centenary trees, there is a large leisure room, equipped with a billiard and several multiple usage tables.
Casa do Foral is located in the centre of Rio Maior.

Rio Maior is a town in the Ribatejo region of Portugal. Located at 3Kms away from the Natural Park of Serras D’Aire and Candeeiros as well as from the salt mines (extraction of salt without sea). This small city is situated at 30Kms away from Santarém (the capital of Ribatejo), 70 Kms away from Lisbon and 25 Kms away from several beaches, such as Nazaré, Peniche, Foz do Arelho, S. Martinho do Porto – all this destinations are possible to reach by highway. From Rio Maior it is easy to visit many monuments – always possible by highway - such as Alcobaça’s Monastery, Batalha’s Monastery, Santarém (the capital of the Gothic), Óbidos Castle and the Sanctuary of Fátima.

Departure:

From Lisbon – Take the A1, direction Santarém/Porto. Get out at Santarém, throw the A15, take the Rio Maior direction, get out at Rio Maior Este, and follow the signs to Casa do Foral.

From Porto – Take the A1, from north to south
