Vila Praia de Ancora The mountains form a splendid backdrop to this little town Vila Praia de Ancora. It is a seaside resort with a small picturesque fishing harbour, an old fort and the river Ancora, and its friendly centre has a wonderful boulevard offering terraces, bars and restaurants. Mount Calvario affords splendid panoramic views of the very safe (for children) and beautiful beach. The national nature reserve of ‘Peneda do Geres' is close by and you can make cultural excursions to: Viana do Castelo, Caminha, take a trip to Spain or just enjoy the wonderful countryside.
