Coupled with beauty and tradition, there are also many new local and modern activities on offer such as golf at Ponte de Lima, water sports and mountain biking or why not combine old and new with an archaeological trek in to the national park. Further afield the nearby towns of Ponte do Lima and Arcos de Valdevez offer attractive architecture and a refined ambience with good shops and many restaurants to choose from. At Ponte de Lima historians will enjoy the well preserved Roman bridge and museum of sacred art. This house cleverly reconstructed using stone and glass sit within the tiny hamlet of Sardieiro.
