Apartment Lage
In Parque das Nações you can find cafes, bars, shopping centre and
more notably the educational attractions.
Parque das Nações, is one of Lisbon's major new residential
neighbourhoods. It is right next to Vasco da Gama shopping centre,
Oceanarium and Pavilion of Knowledge
The Oceanarium was designed by American architect Peter Chermayeff and
is the largest in Europe. The oceanarium is divided into various
ecosystems from around the world with almost 15,000 animals and plants
from over 450 different species. The largest tank is the Global Ocean
tank which is 7 metres deep and includes some large shark species.
Also in an educational vein are the various Pavilions. The Pavilion of
Knowledge is an interactive science and technology museum. This
Pavilion offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, conferences,
debates, colloquiums and many other activities all housed in yet
another fine example of modern architecture
Situated on the north banks of the River Tagus, the charm of Lisbon
exists in its strong links to the past. Its renovated palaces,
magnificent churches and an impressive castle mirror the city's rich
cultural heritage. Its eclectic blend of neighborhoods, culture and
architecture distinguish this capital city uniquely from the other
European capitals and make it a truly fascinating and comprehensive
city to visit.
A city set on seven hills, as the legend tells, with its cobble-stoned
pavements and narrow streets full of Art Nouveau cafés promises a lot
to discover. Most popular spots in Lisbon are: Rossio, Praça do
Comércio, Baixa, St. George’s Castle, Alfama, Mouraria, and Belém.
Lisbon also hosts a great number of remarkable museums of ancient and
modern art, some of which are Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, National
Museum of Contemporary Art, National Coach Museum, Berardo Museum of
Modern and Contemporary Art and Carmo Archaeological Museum. But,
Lisbon isn't all culture and history Bairro Alto is the center of
nightlife with various restaurants and bars where melancholic
traditional Portuguese music, Fado, can also be listened.
