Casa Palmeira is a beautifully renovated Algarvean cottage,
sleeping six,with private grounds,plunge pool and stunning views of
Monte São Miguel.
A home from home in the beautiful hills of the Algarve,a perfect
location for relaxing family holidays.
Set in `Barrocal` countryside, nestled in the foothills of Monte
São Miguel,Casa Palmeira has ´terracotta´ coloured earth and rock
formations dotted around the garden.
There are many citrus, pomegranate, carob and olive trees amongst
the wild herbaceous plants of Thyme, Rosemary and Sage. The house
is surrounded by a generous patio,shaded for dining near the
barbeque. The garden has been beautifully landscaped, the driveway
is gravel. There is a raised ‘Eira’ or threshing circle with a 3
meter plunge pool and canopied shade.
Casa Palmeira has been lovingly renovated with traditional
materials and echoes the Portuguese countryside around it. The
charming kitchen has ´Portuguese Blue’ wooden units topped with a
granite surface.
The kitchen has all modern appliances, with inviting views across
the southern woodland. Steps from the kitchen lead up into the
master bedroom and en-suite bathroom,with double patio doors onto
the south facing terrace. A generous hallway steps down into the
second and third bedrooms, the second having a patio door onto the
north terrace.
There is a large open plan dining room with vaulted ceiling and
charming alcoves, leading into a cosy lounge with a wood burning
stove, leather settees and large patio doors to the north and west.
There are six sun loungers around the pool and there are sun
umbrellas and an outdoor table and chairs.
The pool is 3 m in diameter with a ladder leading into a depth of
1m.
It is a freshwater pool with Chlorine cleaning system. The pool is
serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest
of the year by a competent and reliable professional.
The cottage is well suited to children of all ages.
There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you
have any other requirements.
There are steps up into the master bedroom and lower bathroom, all
other facilities are on one level, making the cottage suitable for
the elderly or infirm.

The property is accessed by a country lane of about 1km. There is
private shaded parking. The property is not at all overlooked and the
nearest neighbours are 250 meters away.
The surroundings are very rural and quiet.

There is a Spanish Tapas restaurant and bar in the village of Peral
2km away, and a local shop 4km away. Larger shops can be found in the
town of São Bras.
The fishing town of Fuzeta with its beach island can be reached by car
and is 13km away. An active fishing town with a picturesque river
front dotted with colourful fishing boats and wooden cabins alongside
the walkway, where the fisherman sit and mend their nets.
Ferries run to the island of Fuzeta and there is a small beach with
café at the end of the riverwalk, ideal for small children.
Every first Sunday of the month there is a flea market spread out from
the riverside to the town.

Tavira’s beautiful beach island is 15 km away.Tavira beaches make up
part of the Nature Reserve of the Ria Formosa, which comprise six
unique barrier islands protecting a system of salt marshes and tidal
mudflats, each fronted by white sand beaches that spread as far as the
eye can see. An unspoilt haven for nature lovers, walkers and bird
watchers.Tavira, referred to in guide books as the ‘Venice of the
Algarve’ is one of the most authentic towns in the Algarve and
definitely worth visiting.

Few places in Europe have so many Blue Flag beaches in such a
concentrated area, you can enjoy the boat and miniature train river
crossings, many of which are operational throughout the year.
There are excellent golf courses within 15 minutes drive from the
accommodation. The closest are Colina Verde in Moncarapacho and a
small 4 hole course at Vila Monte.

Arrival times are flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as
possible. Departure is by 10am and arrival is from 2pm unless
otherwise arranged.

We provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change
including a clean of the bathrooms.

There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of
beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late
arrivals.

Car hire is essential, especially in the heat of summer…and for
reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car
rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local
reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.

Guests will be met at the villa, or otherwise informed where to locate
the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and
competent service from a team of property managers, who can be
contacted at anytime.
