Villa Description
A wonderful location for family holidays including the essential comforts and necessities that older people and wheelchair users require. A large one level area with paved tracks leading around the fruit tree orchard and beautiful and natural hilly environment, plenty of covered terrace area allowing for outdoor living, for all to enjoy! A large covered south facing patio with dining area overlooks the 9 x 5m pool, which also can be used by wheelchair users with the help of a manual lowering device with seat. Sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed from this panoramic view point. A selection of beaches can be reached in 15 mins by car and charming rural towns and villages are all within 10 mins from this authentic and peaceful hamlet setting.
Bedroom 1 on groundfloor with large double bed, set at appropriate level for wheelchair user with rope/wood ladder for leverage. Bedroom 2 on groundfloor with optional twin beds/double bed. Bedroom 3 on first floor with round double bed and single bed.
Two purpose built wheelchair friendly bathrooms, wheelchair for showering provided. Both have showers, wc, sink and are located next to bedrooms on the groundfloor.
Electric oven, gas hob, fridge freezer with ice water dispenser, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, kettle and fully equipped service and utensils. Kitchen located by front door and opens out to living and dining area.
Washing machine in utility room adjoining kitchen and covered terrace.
A spacious and naturally light living and dining area with glass doors along one side allowing full sea view.
A large marble table near kitchen and comfortable seating.
TV with optional satelite programmes provided by ASTRA, CD and DVD player and radio.
Top floor bedroom is large, colourful and friendly and has access to two spacious terraces with panoramic views. The bed is set on a large round base, the single bed which has a very comfortable mattress and can be screened off by curtains.
Although ergonomically designed for a wheelchair user, this house, pool and the surroundings are perfect for all people of all ages to enjoy.
There is pool heating though for the season that the house is available for let we think it is not necessary.
There is also a wood burning stove in the living room and underfloor heating, though not appropriate for summer lettings!
All doorways allow wheelchairs comfortable manoevering space, light switches, taps and handles, beds and storage are all at an accessible height.
There is a wheelchair on the premises for use in the bathroom, purposely water resistant. Toilet seats and all bathroom fittings are customised, plus shower seats for elderly or unstable users. A levered seat has been especially designed for lowering wheelchairs users or unsteady walkers into the pool water.
Our pool is 9 x 5m with a depth that goes from 1.10m to 1.50m so it is not suitable for diving. 7 sunbeds and mattresses are provided by the pool. An outdoor shower area is set by the pool.
A large wooden ceiling provides wonderful shade over an outside patio, perfect for dining outside in front of the pool and magnificent sea views.
At the back of the house is a purpose built barbeque area with seating, near the fruit orchard. Trees include lemon, avocado, orange, guava, fig, carob, olive and sharon fruit.
Covered parking is found at the entrance of the property. All the outside areas can be lit at night.
There are five golf courses in the vicinity, the closest being a 10 minute drive away, in Maragota, only a 9 holes course. The others are 18 hole courses and are reached within 25 minutes drive.

Fuzeta beach is the nearest to Casa Aurora, being a 15 minute car drive away. A charming beach reached by a small boat trip from the mainland over to the island. On the mainland itself the river provides a fine beach aswell, protected from waves and less windy on windy days!
There are plenty of lovely and peaceful beaches which can be reached either directly by car or by foot, miniature train and ferry boats, including the larger boats that take visitors out to the beautiful islands.
Faro airport is reached within 30 minutes drive. Car hire is necessary to get to and fro from this location.
Alterntively, cheaper flights often can be found to Jerez de Frontera, in Spain. Car hire is advisable for the journey to Portugal as public transport is not very direct.
The nearest small shop is found in Estiramartens, 1 km away.
Moncarapacho which offers more amenities and has its own distinct rural charm about it is 7km away.
The lovely historic town of Tavira, with all its pavement cafes and restaurants and outdoor entertainment during summer months is about 15 - 20 minutes drive away.
Seville can be reached in 2 hours and Lisbon in 3 hours.

Villa Price Notes
We require a 50% deposit within two weeks of making the booking, the balance is due no later than eight weeks before the arrival date.
We will confirm the arrival of funds and send driving instructions by email.
Arrangements will be made for meeting at the house for handing over the key on arrival and departure.

Guests will be met at the villa and will have a contact number in case any assistance is required.

We are flexible on the changeover day, though would prefer tp keep bookings close as possible. Departures must be before 10am and arrivals after 1pm, unless otherwise agreed beforehand.
