A spacious interior combining traditional architectural details, wooden peak ceilings, wooden doors, shutters and floors, skylights, glass brick walls, Morrocan and terracota tiles and decorated with charming antique and modern furniture.
Providing plenty of space and comfort for staying in with Wifi/Broadband internet, Cable TV with 60 channels and a DVD player offering the possibility for indoor entertainment - or visit the neighbouring American Bookshop for a steady supply of reading matter!
Accessed by a stone staircase from a private courtyard, the first floor has a double bedroom with air conditioning, a spacious living room, full bathroom and another bedroom with twin beds.
Wooden stairs lead up to a large air conditioned double bedroom, full bathroom and an ample kitchen with a terrace allowing for dining inside or outside.

Summer months offer a host of choice in street theatre, live music, exhibitions and concerts plus two outdoor cinema festivals showing a selection of European and American films. After the heat of the day, the cool and scented, vibrant atmosphere of the summer nights are enjoyed by many families until the early hours of morning...
Tavira Island beach can be reached by ferry boat from just across the river, a 4 minute walk away. You will discover wonderful golden, sandy beaches, beach bars and restaurants on an island 10 miles by 1.
The nearest airport is Faro which is a 30 minute drive. Jerez da Fronteira in Spain is also an option, often cheaper than Faro though a car is necessary for transfer to the property as bus/train services are complicated.
Tavira is renowned for its 38 historic churches and its 4 beautiful bridges spanning the Gilao river which divides the town and allows for spectacular riverside views of the medieval town and river life. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the river, public gardens and quiet squares, offering an array of traditional patisseries and fresh fish dishes.
The castle walls border the medieval centre of town, encompassing tranquil gardens and a camera obscura. From here scan over the rich tapestry of peaked rooftops to the estuary leading through the mosaic of salt pans and far out into the Atlantic.
For golf there are many courses within minutes' drive amongst which is the beautiful Quinta da Ria just to the east of Tavira at a place called Fabrica.
