Villa in Ericeira Description
This is a wonderful villa in a breathtaking setting in Ericeira, just
40km from Lisbon. Enjoying 4200 metres of outdoor space and
benefitting from its own gardens, tennis court and snooker room. Once
inside the villa offers 3 bedrooms, sleeping 5 and ample living space
via its very large lounge (over 60 metres squared). The porch offers
spectacular panoramic views of the wonderful blue Atlantic ocean.
Once outside you are just 450 metres from the wonderful Ericeira
beaches. One of these, Ribeira das Ilhas beach, is regarded as one of
Europe’s best surfing beaches and it hosts the World Surfing
Championships.

Ericeira is a small fishing village and Atlantic Ocean resort, located
40 km north of Lisbon. This small and idyllic coastal town is blessed
with 300 days of sunshine, mild Winter temperatures and sea-breezed
Summers, making it an inviting destination all year long. It's often
praised as the Mecca of Surf in Portugal. While it's cold and stormy
everywhere else in Europe, Ericeira is most likely enjoying spring
weather and perfect swells.
The local people are extremely hospitable. The quaint "old village"
with its narrow cobblestone streets, characteristic housing, numerous
monuments, gorgeous sea, fishing heritage, mouth-watering cuisine and
amazing views of the Atlantic, make Ericeira a popular destination for
holiday makers.
The old town has the majority of historic attractions within it. These
include churches and chapels including the 15th century Santa Marta
Chapel. The So Sebastio Chapel dates from the 17th century and is
renowned for its unusual architecture - a hexagonal shape with a round
dome reminiscent of Arabian buildings. The pillory of Ericeira dates
from 1513 and is carved in the popular Portuguese Manueline style.
The former Grand Casino dating from 1919 was later transformed into a
cinema but was more recently opened as the Jaime Lobo e Silva Cultural
Center.
