A pretty and bright 3 bedroomed villa, with breathtaking views from all angles of its hilltop location in the Algarvean hinterland. The villa with its private pool and garden is a lovely retreat for couples and families with children. Terracotta patios encircle the villa, there is a shaded patio and barbeque beside the pool perfect for al fresco dining! The villa has a gated entrance and gravel driveway, there are citrus trees, bougainvillea and jasmine within the 2000m2 garden. The area is one of outstanding natural beauty with indigenous trees and shrubs, including cork, cork oak, carob, almond, olive, lemon, rock rose and medronho bushes with most of the surrounding lands completely unspoilt. The villa has a sizeable modern kitchen, with full facilities and a dining table. Following on from the kitchen, through a hallway with a downstairs cloakroom you come into a very light lounge, with large glass patio doors that look out onto the swimming pool, a dining table with seating for 6 and a fireplace. There is a further lounge space with two settees and television, that also has terrace access and is on the ground floor. Following on from the television lounge there is a double bedroom. The wide marble staircase leads up to a bathroom, two further bedrooms, one double, one twin, with fitted wardrobes and views over the surrounding hillsides. Patio doors lead out onto a large circular roof terrace, with commanding views, westwards and southwards over the Atlantic Ocean. The roof terrace has a dining table and seating for 6. Quality sun loungers deck the terrace around the pool and there are sun umbrellas, a table and chairs available. The pool measures 8m x 4m with steps leading into a shallow end of 1.30m and a deep end of 1.90m. The pool is a freshwater pool with Copper/Silver cleaning system and is serviced twice weekly during summer and once weekly during the rest of the year by a competent and reliable professional. Pool and garden lighting is available. A lovely natural and open environment for children, though unfenced sections of the terraces could pose a hazard for younger children. There is a cot and high chair provided. Please let us know if you have any other requirements. There are no steps on the ground floor, making this property suitable for the elderly or infirm.

The nearest neighbor is 50m distant, the property and terraces are not overlooked. The property is accessed via a new tarmac road and is very quiet,its just you and countryside! The charming village of Santa Catarina is a 10 minute drive from the villa, with its shops and amenities and there is a fantastic local restaurant 2km away, serving local game, including wild boar. On the way to Santa Catarina there is an English rural hotel with tennis courts and organized events such as boot sales, quiz nights and entertainment. The renowned blue flag beaches of the Algarve are a 20 to 30 minute drive.There are excellent golf courses within 25 to 40 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei. Tavira, referred to in guide books as the ‘Venice of the Algarve’ is one of the most authentic towns in the Algarve and definitely worth visiting.The beautiful centre of Tavira is situated on the banks of the river Gilão. The town has a seven arched Roman bridge that spans the river and is the focal point of the town. There are many highly recommended fish restaurants, which serve locally caught shellfish and fresh fish dishes, enjoyed with a glass of ‘vinho verde’, the ´green` sparkling wine which is typically Portuguese. Numerous cafes and restaurants line the river, public gardens and quiet squares, offering an array of traditional patisseries and fresh fish dishes. Tavira beaches make up part of the Nature Reserve of the Ria Formosa, which comprise six unique barrier islands protecting a system of salt marshes and tidal mudflats, each fronted by white sand beaches that spread as far as the eye can see. An unspoilt haven for nature lovers, walkers and bird watchers. Few places in Europe have so many Blue Flag beaches in such a concentrated area, you can enjoy the boat and miniature train river crossings, many of which are operational throughout the year.

We accept changeovers on any day but prefer to keep bookings close. Normally arrival is from 4pm onwards and departure before 10am, this can be flexible unless we have changeovers on the same day. On booking we request a 30 per cent deposit within one week and the final balance is due up to 8 weeks before arrival. Bookings less than 8 weeks before arrival, 100% payable at time of booking. Transport is needed for this location and we can recommend a local company that collects and drops off at the airport . We can also organise bicycle hire and taxi transfers, please enquire.
