"a beautiful place to stay" - Nick Knowles, BBC Holiday Hit Squad The Quinta da Saudade is a small British-run estate of privately-owned villas occupying approximately twenty-four acres about four miles west of Albufeira. Nestling in the peaceful country setting of an old hillside farm estate and set amid orange, almond, pomegranate and olive trees, the Quinta is about forty-five minutes drive from the Airport at Faro and about a mile inland. The nearest beach, less than two miles away, is a magnificent long stretch of sand, bounded by dunes, where it is always possible to escape the crowds, even in August. The complex includes two swimming pools, a children's play area and pool, tennis court, a pool bar, restaurant and bar, mini-golf course, table tennis and petanque. There are Riding Stables at the Quinta with fabulous horses that can be taken out for gallops across the dunes or slow hacks through the countryside. Salgados, a links golf course, is about a mile away and water parks and a sea marina are also close by. There are attractive country walks in the vicinity and there is a wetlands nature reserve nearby with a wealth of bird and plant life not commonly found in the UK. Purple Heron, Little Bittern, Alpine Swift, Bee Eater, Red Necked Night Jar, Azure Winged Magpie and more. For the gourmet, there is a one Michelin star and even a two Michelin star restaurant in the immediate vicinity as well as good local restaurants. Villa 9a is a spacious three bedroom air-conditioned villa that has recently been totally renovated and refurbished throughout to a very high standard. Accommodation at the villa is three bedrooms, split over two levels. The upper part consists of one double bedroom with en-suite shower room and a twin bedroom with separate bathroom together with a kitchen and sitting/dining room. The lower self-contained level (Studio) contains a twin bedroom/sitting room, a kitchen and wetroom. Villa 9a and Villa 9a Studio can be booked as a single unit to sleep a total of six or split into separate accommodations to sleep up to four and two respectively. Extra beds or cots can be put in for a child or baby at an extra cost. The upper level contains a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave oven. There are air conditioning units in the two bedrooms and the sitting room. There is a large terrace with views over the countryside to the sea and cliffs around Arma�ao de Pera. There is a shaded area with tables and chairs for eating out, together with sun loungers and a barbeque. Villa 9a Studio has also been recently renovated. It contains a well- equipped kitchen, with fridge/freezer, oven, hob and microwave. There are French windows leading out to a terrace with chairs and table for al-fresco eating. There is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom/sitting room. The villa is provided with solar heated hot water. Bedding and towels are provided but not towels for the beach or pools. A washing machine is shared between the villa and studio. The villa rental is inclusive of maid service. Electricity is also inclusive. Satellite television is available in both the main villa and the studio. For winter occupation, the air-conditioning units also act as heaters with additional electric heaters and a log stove/open fire in the sitting-room. A complimentary starter pack will be provided to welcome you, consisting of eggs, milk, butter, sugar, coffee, tea, bread, drinking water and white wine. The rent also includes the use of all the amenities at the Quinta, except for a small charge for the tennis court. There are two mountain bikes and two golf bags available free of charge although a separate deposit would be required if you would like them to be made available for usage.
