Amarante, with its 18 holes golf course, is at about 30 km. Besides, Amarante is a very ancient and interesting town, offering excellent restaurants, museums and the beautiful St. Gonçalo Church. You can catch a train in Mosteirô to Régua, and then take a boat to visit the farms, or alternatively, you can go by train to Oporto and visit one of the many port wine lodges on the bank of Douro river.
