This lovely family holiday home is set within Herdade de Montalvo, very close to Comporta, one of Portugal’s best kept secrets! Herdade de Montalvo is part of the natural reserve of the Sado river, between Alcácer do Sal and Comporta, This is a well looked after, beautiful condominium, with 24hour security, which will offer you and your family a delightful holiday. There is diversion for the whole family: a playground nearby as well as tennis courts, sports facilities, a 25 meter swimming pool (as well as a children’s paddling pool) and a horse riding centre. Comporta, with its miles and miles of white sandy beaches is one of Portugal’s most exclusive areas. Apart from this never ending beach, where you can swim, surf, windsurf, there is golfer’s paradise in Troia (20km), where you’ll find beautiful beaches – both sea and river. Also in Troia boat trips can be arranged to view the dolphins. If it’s History you’re keen on, then you’ll be delighted with the Roman ruins in Santiago do Cacem. The castle in Alcacer do Sal is also worth a visit. Within Herdade de Montalvo you may choose to take a walk in one of the pedestrian trails as well as swim, take a boat ride or go canoeing in the natural dam. Several species of birds nest in the area, including storks, mallards, herons, marsh harriers. Foxes, hares and rabbits are some of the mammals that you can observe from marked viewpoints. All of this just 100km from Lisbon (mostly motorway). The closest restaurant is 1km away and the closest supermarket, 5km. Close to the beach there is quite a good choice of restaurants. All the villas are set in their own space, and Villa 87 has total privacy! One can see that no effort was spared to provide the perfect stay: the décor, all the little details that show the owners’ love for travelling. There is a small vegetable garden and guests are most welcome to help themselves! On the ground floor there is a beautiful sitting/dining-room, with a fireplace, perfect for those chilly evenings in the winter! It opens onto a fabulous patio, again with a sitting/dining area stretching onto the lawn – all you hear are the sounds of birds! Still on the ground floor there is the fully equipped kitchen, a cloakroom and three bedrooms (1 double with en-suite shower-room, another double and a twin sharing a bathroom). On the first floor there are two more bedrooms (one double and one single, sharing a bathroom). On the lower ground floor there is a huge games room (with two more single beds) and a shower room.
