Muxima means Heart, in the Angolan dialect Kimbundu and is best the way Sofia Faustino and Jorge Andrade found to express their huge passion for Africa, the enormous continent where, one day, they dream of living in. Therefore, the house represents a way of feeling Africa always close to them. Despite of its portuguese traditional design and construction, the 28 ha of cork-trees and arbutus surrounding it are preserved so that nature keeps African characteristics, intact and wild. But the ethnic experi-ence isn't just about Africa. Jorge has cooperated with humanitarian efforts on several places around the world. The house's bedrooms are themed upon those journeys, offering its peculiar mood, taste and nostalgia.
