The region has moderate weather and it´s not too hot in the summer.There is a lagoon with shallow waters that are perfect for children and less able swimmers.The fishermen´s town of Peniche is nearby with very good seafood. To enjoy the area is necessary to visit the island of Baleal that is linked to the mainland by a narrow strip of sand.Óbidos is a walled town that we advised you to visit as the spa town of Caldas da Rainha, the monastery of Alcobaça and the fortifications of Torres Vedras.

Óbidos is one of the most visited vlllages in Portugal ( national monument). Óbidos is a walled medieval town with a castle and narrow streets with white and little houses, and several churches. There are many restaurants and bars with the typic Ginga de Óbidos made with alcool and fruit. Every first Sunday of each month there is a antique fair and in July you have to vistit the medieval fair with everyone dressing like the ancient.
