The fishing village of Calheta is just 1 km away and is easily accessible on foot. A small natural harbor with beautifully clear water you can go swimming, diving and fishing. Changing rooms with toilet and shower are available and a small cafe. On the outskirts there is a small supermarket. From Calheta is a bus twice a day to the neighboring town of Lajes, there are whale watching tours on offer.
