You can begin your wine tasting and sightseeing right here from your holiday villa that resides in the Portuguese wine region declared a World Heritage Site in 2001.
The enchanting town of Mesao Frio features an assortment of cafes, shops and restaurants and is conveniently located a mere five minute drive from the villa. All restaurants offer traditional Portuguese cuisine and fine local wines at a good value. Two large supermarkets, banks, petrol stations, Internet cafe and post office are available as well. There is also a river beach ideal for picnics, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and a open-air market on Friday mornings. Regua, the lively port wine capital, is only a 15 minute drive and offers an assortment of river boat cruises along the Douro. You will truly admire the spectacular riverboat views: finding yourself eager to sample wines from the extensive selection of wine houses and quintas throughout the area.
