Within easy to reach, is the interesting town of Viseu, there you should visit the Grão Vasco Museum, the 17th Century Cathedral and the magnificent renaissance and baroque palaces, and more recently its 18 hole golf course and why not, just sit outside a good restaurant and ask for cheese from Serra da Estrêla (Portugal’s most delicious cheese made from milk from the ewes that graze on wild herbs on the mountain) with fresh bread and Dão wine, or discover the spectacular Serra da Estrela (Higher in Portugal) and its natural park, with lakes and mountain, streams, winter sports.
The owner a charming lady lives above in the manor house The Manor house date back from the XIII and XIV centuries, and was once ruled by the order of monks. Remodeled in 1740, staying much the same since there, and belongs to the same family for 3 centuries.
