Modern detached house situated just above the pretty village of Arco da Calheta, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, about 30 minutes west of Funchal. The village centre, a church and the arc of mountains which embraces the village, mini-markets, a health centre and a pharmacy are only steps away. Across the road is a friendly bar with a wide range of drinks, ice creams and sandwiches at modest prices. Within minutes driving there are two beaches, one sandy, a good selection of restaurants, supermarkets and a new arts centre.

With a living area of 160 m², this spacious house is elegantly furnished and fitted with every conceivable requirement for a holiday in the sun. It has its own electronically operated garage and sunny balconies and verandas for outside dining or relaxing with a book and a glass of wine. There are a total of 3 bedrooms (1 double, 2 twins). The double bedroom is ensuite and a family bathroom serves the other two bedrooms. All three bedrooms open directly onto the terrace which runs around the house. The bedrooms are on the lower floor but since the house (like many Madeiran houses) is built into a hillside the bedrooms are still high above the neighbouring land and enjoy the same views as upstairs. The main entrance opens into the lounge-diner area with the kitchen and a WC off. The kitchen opens into the garage so you can park your car and step straight into the house. There is a small balcony off the dining area suitable for breakfasting. The stairs lead down from the dining area and are protected by a child gate. Downstairs there is a utility area with a washer-dryer, an ironing board and iron and a clothes airer. Electric heaters and hot water bottles are provided for the winter months when the evenings can be cool.
