How to use the ChoosePortugal website to find a property

ChoosePortugal is an owners/agents rental advertising website. The properties shown on this site are advertised on behalf of the owner or their agent and therefore all the enquiries and bookings are handled by the property owners themselves or their agents, not ChoosePortugal. This page is a guide on how to use the site. The use of this site is governed by our Terms and Conditions

Searching for a rental property

1. The site has many methods of locating a holiday rental, these are now outlined below.

a. Basic Search, this search is found at the top of each page on the site and allows search of area, type and the number the property sleeps.

b. Advanced Search, this search page is found by the link to Advanced Search located at the top of each property page or the "Find Holiday Home" link in the navigation bar at the top of the page. The advanced search allows you to narrow down the search results and search for availability on properties where the owners use their calendar.

c. Quick Link searches, are found towards the top of each page and narrow down the results of properties, for example, those situated on Golf Courses.

d. If you know the reference number of the rental property, you can use the ref. no. box on the top left of each page to carry out a reference number search.

e. You can also select an area either in text format at the top of each page or by using the map on the home page. This will display a list of towns and properties within that area.

f. If you already know your preferred resort, you can select the town from the dropdown menu on the home page that is situated within the left hand content column.

Viewing search results

2. After a search, quick link or on a town page, you will be presented with a list of rental properties. If there is more than one page, you can navigate forward and backward through the results using the page numbers at the top and bottom of the results.

3. On each list there are abbreviated details and links to view further details, view the calendar (if shown) or send an enquiry. Clicking on the image also brings up the property details.

4. Some lists will also display property types and towns as well as select properties by the number of bedrooms they have.

Sending an enquiry

5. Before sending an enquiry, make sure you have read both our site terms and conditions and our privacy statement as by making contact with the property owner/agent you will be agreeing to comply with our site terms and conditions and our privacy statement.

6. You can use the "Send Enquiry" buttons on each property page as well as the property lists to send an enquiry to the owner/agent or telephone their contact number if displayed. Please fill in as many details as possible to aid the owner in answering your enquiry. It is a good idea to add a contact telephone number, in case the owner has trouble replying to your email. Remember the enquiry is sent directly to the owner, not ChoosePortugal.

7. Please do not send property enquiries to our office as we have no further details than those displayed on the site.

8. The Late Deals page provides a list of Late Availability special offers. You can view the full property details and then send an enquiry direct.

Making a booking

9. ChoosePortugal is not a holiday agent or travel booking firm and i.a.w. our terms and conditions we take no responsibility in the management of the rental properties or bookings, this is between the potential renter and the owner/agent.

10. ChoosePortugal strongly advise that the potential renter and owner/agent validate the authenticity of the other party before making and accepting of payments. It advisable for both parties to send by post a letter of validation which is required to be signed and returned to validate the other parties address. In accordance with our terms and conditions we have not seen the properties advertised on this site and the properties and the advertisers have NOT been verified as genuine. It is the responsibility of the users to verify all details before proceeding with a booking.

11. ChoosePortugal strongly advise that the potential renter and owner/agent have in place suitable insurance to cover themselves against unforeseen circumstances.
